At the review meeting of the sample of the Long March 5 B carrier rocket, which was jointly organized by the relevant departments of the group on the same day, the jury was listening to the "Suggested Report on the Initial Development of the Long March 5 B Launch Vehicle" and the Quality Supervision Report. It is believed that the initial design of the Long March 5 B carrier rocket is correct, the process is stable, the verification is sufficient, the interface is coordinated, the main technical indicators meet the overall requirements of the project, the technical state of the sample has been determined, and it can be transferred to the sample development stage.
The Long March 5B carrier rocket is the new generation of launch vehicle with the largest capacity in the near-Earth orbit. The rocket uses a non-toxic and low-pollution propellant with a total length of 53.7 meters, a core diameter of 5 meters and a booster diameter of 3.35 meters. The rocket adopts a first-half configuration with a take-off weight of 837.5 tons and a low-earth orbit carrying capacity of more than 22 tons.
According to the news released by the introduction meeting on the application results of manned spaceflight projects held on September 26 this year, China's space station project is divided into three phases: key technology verification, construction and operation.
